CIRI – INSERM
National Institute for Health and Medical Research (INSERM)
National Institute for Health and Medical Research (INSERM) is the only French public research organization entirely dedicated to human health. It brings together 15,000 researchers, engineers and technicians, in more than 350 research structures with a common objective: to improve the health of all, through advances in knowledge about living things and diseases, innovation in treatments and public health research.
The International Center for Infectiology Research (CIRI, https://ciri.ens-lyon.fr) is a joint research unit of the INSERM, CNRS, Lyon 1 University and the ENS de Lyon in partnership with VetAgro Sup, the Institute Pasteur and the Hospices Civils in Lyon. The CIRI gathers the scientific and medical research communities with complementary disciplinary backgrounds grouped in three specialties: virology, bacteriology and immunology, working together with the objective to understand host-microbe interactions to better fight infectious diseases.
